(Today Venezuela) Miranda state governor Henrique Capriles Radonski late on Wednesday denounced that he was surrounded by armed groups at the Santiago Mariño International Airport of Margarita Island, north-eastern Nueva Esparta state.

Through his Twitter account, Miranda state governor Henrique Capriles said the armed groups support the administration of President Nicolás Maduro

The governor claimed the groups are supporters of the government of President Nicolás Maduro, whom he blamed for what could have happened at the air terminal.

Capriles further said that international media outlets also were ringed by armed gangs.

He called on the countries that are to participate at the Non-Aligned Movement Summit to be aware of the ongoing situation in the host island.

The governor recorded a video showing the airport door being blocked by a group of people who tried to enter forcibly while security agents guarded passengers who accompanied the opposition leader.
